Two Tone Rambler

Chloe here- the writer and co-producer of The Woman Who Shed Her Skin, a hybrid theatrical production. This project started life as a poem, a cathartic expression of personal growth and a message to women; a dialogue between a woman’s relish in her exterior beauty and her interior desire to be heard as an individual. Named Corinne, the central character was a woman in dire flux. Over time, with the addition of Noel MacDuffie as director and co-producer, the piece evolved into a stylized theatrical exploration fusing mixed media with live performance, a projected version of her character that comes with its own infomercial and pop song, a live dancer, a live Voice over and a live Cellist!
We premiered the show at Dixon place on February 25th this year. After an over sold opening show and exceedingly positive feedback we were invited to present the piece the following week at HERE Arts Center. So far the next part of the journey is to take the project across the pond to the UK where we have been accepted to participate in the Brighton Fringe festival. WHAT WE NEED! Our goal is to raise $10k in the next two months to cover the costs of this trip. We need to provide travel, accommodation, rehearsal space, food/living costs for five performers, the director, and the technical/projection master. As well as covering production costs including maintaining costumes, props and set, storage, transportation, publicity and insurance. Over half of our total projected budget will go towards travel (flights and ground transport) for the team. We will use roughly $2000 for production costs. $1750 will be divided up into a small per diem per individual. $1000 will also be used to house the company for the week. WHAT YOU GET! We are excited to partner with some talented artists who are creating original artwork based on the motif of Shedding Skin. Each person who donates to our campaign no matter the amount will receive a postcard with original artwork designed by one of our chosen artists. As the donation amount goes up, so do the gifts you receive!
